Bio

A little about me: I am an enthusiastic beginning teacher with a strong commitment to social justice. I make my classroom an engaging space where all students feel safe and eager to learn new things and make mistakes along the way. I look forward to bringing my energy and teaching philosophy into your school, and to collaborating with the educational team to provide engaging instruction for all students!

Work History

January 2021 - May 2021

Teaching Practitioner, Thomas Edison Charter Academy

  • Designed and taught interdisciplinary lessons in preparation for lead teaching at end of semester

  • Regularly facilitated Zoom functions such as breakout rooms and screen sharing

  • Worked with lead teacher to design and implement rewards system to increase student participation

  • Practiced classroom management techniques

  • Served as a Spanish/English translator in parent-teacher conferences and assisted in the development of assessments for student report cards

  • Created and taught a 10 class Math Unit

January 2021

Assistant Teacher, Crocker Farm Elementary School

  • Assisted in day-to-day activities of an inclusive classroom (multiple learning styles, some students with IEPs and 504s)

  • Used multiple structured observation tools to collect specific academic and behavioral data

  • Participated in multiple grade-level planning meetings and school-wide professional development trainings 

  • Created and implemented an interactive math lesson for the entire sixth grade team
